Julie and Julia

Julie and Julia is a movie about two women that is developed in different time and places, one is in France and the other in the United States. This is a love-comedy that shows al the challenge that this two women faces. In this essay I will explain the similarities and differences of each one.

At the beginning of the movie is clear that the two women wanted to do something different and show to the other people that they have capabilities even when the people didn’t believe in them. For example Julia doesn’t want to be alone at home so she goes outside and look for different things to do and that is when she started to learn cooking.

Neither Julie nor Julie knows anything about cooking but in the case of Julia takes classes and learn how to cook. In the case of Julie she takes the book that Julia did and do again all the recipes.

One of the most representative similarities of these characters is that the husbands are always there next to the women and even in the worst cases they fight but later they fix their problems.

In the differences we can find the time and space development of the movie, because one is made in France in 1949 and the other in New York in 2002.

Also in the differences it is important to know that Julie works for the government and is unhappy and Julia doesn’t work, only her husband that is constantly travelling by all the American territory and also the world.

And one of the biggest differences, but one of the objectives of the movie is that Julie wants to prepare all the recipes that Julia created and Julia in that time only wanted to learn cooking.

As a conclusion, this is a movie that has two different spaces, times and objectives of the actresses because one of them wanted to cook and the other wants to overcome a challenge in 365 days.

Impacts of Migration

Nowadays the migration is one of the most common activities that we can see in our society. The migration has many positives aspects, for example: hand of work, variety of culture and foreign investment.

From point of view social, the migration is very important for the country because the people from other countries come and do the hard works, the agricultural and construction works. Even with this kind of help the Costa Ricans discriminate and don’t like to do the hand works.

If we see the cultural side of the migration, we can see all the variety of people from other countries. They have many different customs, for example: the food, the religion, the cloth and the holidays. This can be a problem because the Costa Ricans can take this customs and the country losses his cultural identity.

From the economical view is a very important benefit because foreign investment helps to develop projects, infrastructure, industry, places to work that the Costa Rican government can’t afford. In this case the foreign business men fell that can control the develop of the country and affect to the government and also the citizens in general.

Finally, the migration in some cases is necessary but the society and also the government has to control this activity.

Private vrs Public Hospitals

We know that people don’t like to visit the hospitals as patient, but sometimes it is necessary because illnesses take their door. If you have the opportunity to choose between private and public hospitals you need to compare the advantages and disadvantages.

First, the advantages of private hospital are three aspects; they have god attention; for example, giving to you a nurse, good food and some cases private room. Also they have fast attention in case of an emergency. The last aspect is there are not a lot of people waiting for attention. In the order hand, the public hospital is cheaper in their services such as the medicine and they have specialist doctors all the time.

Second, the disadvantages of private hospitals are the expensive costs in their services and medicine. Another disadvantage is the absence of specialist doctors. The disadvantages of public hospitals are the regular and not personal attention and it is so slow as a result of amount of patients.

To conclude, before you choose a private or public hospital you have to evaluate the advantages and disadvantage of each.

Some of the qualities that a good leader should have are patience, understanding and a little humility. Ottón Solis, the candidate from Citizen Action Party is the best option for 2010 elections because of two main facts. First of all, he has knowledge in economy. For instance, Ottón studied economy at U.C.R. and Manchester University. Furthermore, he was national economics and political planning minister. Another significant reason is that he has interesting ideas about education such as strengthening and broadening it. For example, according to his proposal, he mentions that the improvement of the quality public education in Costa Rica is the key tool for development. So, he proposed to increase the use of technology and English, to strengthen training and standards of quality, and so on. In conclusion, Otton Solís is the kind of president that Costa Rica really needs because of his ideals and his expertise.
